I am the Coffee Bar Manager for Hubbard & Cravens Coffee and Tea in Indianapolis, barista trainer, home roaster, and coffee shop consultant. I work in the specialty coffee industry because I love it but I am also a student, and have been for my entire coffee-oriented life. A few of the places I have worked as a barista are: Kaldi’s Coffee Roasters in Columbia MO, Vida Coffee Co. in Columbia MO, and Rohs Street Cafe in Cincinnati OH.
As with most infatuated baristas, I cannot leave my job at work. I own and regularly use 13 different brewing methods, have owned a 4-group La Marzocco Linea (plugged into washer and dryer outlets), worked multiple barista jobs at once, roast from home, cup coffees regularly, and blog incessantly. I am also a verified reviewer for the Coffee Review.
I began work founding Vida Coffee Co. on the University of Missouri’s campus in Columbia, MO in 2009. The shop opened in 2010 and is growing at a very healthy rate to this day. Currently, I am in Indianapolis and am a full-time manager at Hubbard & Cravens as well as going to grad school. My wife has baked for several coffee shops, so together, our home is truly a coffeehouse.
This blog is my online depository of all things I feel are relevant to share regarding coffee. I have another blog, www.seminaryhighlights.wordpress.com that tracks my other interest, which is my schooling.
